Oriol Bausà is an Associate Director of Document Engineering Services, an international consortium of experts supporting universal business interoperability through the use of open standards.

Oriol's professional career has its background in electronic data interchange, specializing in electronic invoicing. He has led the development of several electronic invoice and data modeling projects using technologies like EDI, XML and UBL, and underlying infrastructures such as electronic signature, digital security and message handling systems.

Today, he is an active participant in different international standardization initiatives such the OASIS UBL Technical Committee. Oriol has also developed a deep knowledge on the UN/CEFACT TBG17 library and the UMM methodology.

This experience has refined his skills with XML technologies like XSD, XML, XPath, XSLT, Schematron and Genericode, and with transport specifications such as ebXML specifications (ebMS) and Web Services.

Oriol has applied these skills in recent projects involving digital security and electronic signature, using XMLdsig and XadES.

Significantly, Oriol has been a key player in encouraging and supporting the electronic invoice adoption within the Tax Office and Ministry of Industry within the Spanish Government.

Career Experience:

2003-2007: Chief Executive Officer, Invinet Sistemes (private consultancy firm). Responsible for the specification and modeling of documents.

2000-2003:Project Development Manager, Comunitel (Voice & data Telecom company). Managed Project Development Unit team of 20 people.

1991-1999: Chief Technical Officer, Fonocom (Spanish Value Added Network). Developed and managed a network of more than 10.000 customers.

1991: IBM. Worked on a new development methodology with Case tools and a language for application generation.

1987-1990: IT Manager, Cinco (Fiscal and Accounts Consultants). Corporate IT support and maintenance.

Invinet Sistemes (2003-2007):

Definition of TELCON XML for the Ministry of Finance--A set of public accounting documents.
Development of the National Electronic Procurement Portal of Spain, for the Spanish Ministry of Finance.
Customization of the UBL Electronic Invoice following the Spanish requirements for Fundetec.
Definition of CODICE for the Ministry of Finance. During 2006 a work on the definition of the eTendering and eAwarding phases of the Public eProcurement issued the CODICE schemes for the different documents exchanged on those processes.
Defnition of OAProject, a SOA architecture to enable ondemand application composition.
Development of the Electronic Invoice incoming workflow system for the Govern de les Illes Balears (Balearic Islands)

Comunitel (2000-2003): Development of the distribution of receipts exchange system

Development of an EDI-based eProcurement and eLogistics system a public health institution.

Mixed EDI - XML project to allow the exchange of delivery instructions for the automotive industry.

RED project to facilitate the exchange of the data between enterprises and the Social Insurance Agency (Tesorería General de la Seguridad Social)
EDI-based Electronic Invoice national wide system developed following the guidelines of the Spanish Tax Office.
