Markus Gudmundsson is an Associate Director and Consultant of Document Engineering Services, an international consortium of experts supporting universal business interoperability through the use of open standards.
Markus has over 13 years of experience in the software development industry and is an expert in software architectures, internet technologies and operating systems and has lead and participated in projects involving system services, web services, web shops, databases, application integration, enterprise resource planning and graphical user interfaces and web front-ends.
His speciality is network application for the Microsoft Windows servers and operating systems, Biztalk Server and the ERP system Dynamics NAV (formerly Navision).
Markus has since 2006 actively participated in the work of the Northern European Subset group and CEN/BII, defining business profiles based on UBL 2.0.

Dimon Business Server (2003-to-date). Maintained Dimon Business Server as a product, installed and configured this ebXML based server in various companies in the health, transportation and retail sector.
Health Network (2003-2005). Lead development of architectural changes to Dimon Business Server and installation of the server in various hospitals and clinics for sending vaccination reports and records of patient history.
Retail and Transportation Sector (2003-2005). Implemented transformation of EDIFACT to/from XML messages based on the EANCOM 2002 standard.
Focal Groupware Integration (2005). Integrated between Navision and the Focal Groupware Solution using Microsoft Biztalk Server.
IdegaWeb Web Shop Component Framework (2002). Lead development of modules for the IdegaWeb CMS system built on top of Intershop 4 web shop functionality. Development in Java.

ISAL Aluminium Plant (1995-2001). Designed, developed and maintained client/server applications for quality control and manufacturing of aluminium. Lead the development of a new Windows application for optimizing aluminium production and travelling distances.
GALVOS (1994-1999). Designed and developed a client/server system for acquisition, processing and analysis of time series gathered from water level measurements in rivers and lakes. Implemented in object oriented C++, PowerBuilder and Oracle. Managed the overall project for the National Energy Authority of Iceland and the National Power Company.
